What is the Westerville Naz Summer Slam?

This summer we will have many activities available for kids and teens. All ages from 1st grade to 12th grade can come! These are the camps that we offer:

  • Basketball camp led by Natalie Thomas (Coach of JV Women’s Basketball at Olentangy Berlin).

  • Soccer camp led by Gerardo Rivas (Former Soccer Captain at Mount Vernon Nazarene University).

  • Juggling Camp led by Jeremy Stanley (Professional Juggler, president of the Columbus Juggling Club, has juggled for 20 years).

  • Olympic Sports Camp led by various community leaders. The sports included will be Discgolf, Archery, Wiffle Ball, Racing, and Body Weight.

  • Music Camp led by Mark and Jill Ledford (Combined they have taught music for students from the middle school to college aged for 30 years).

  • Art Camp led by Bethany Lee (Self-taught abstract artist working with acrylics and mixed media for seven years.)

Each camp is not exactly the same. Your child will learn new skills even in the same activity, and can attend any or all the camps! Then, after the camps, participants will have time to eat a fresh meal. And they will have the opportunity to attend our Children’s or Youth ministries at the church. They will learn what it looks like to Make Waves (make an impact) for God’s Kingdom! There is only availability for 80 kids/teens to sign up….so it is a “first come, first serve”!

How Can I Volunteer?

We have many needs and ways you can volunteer. You can volunteer by following this link: Volunteering!

What are the times?

Camps will happen every Wednesday throughout the summer, except for July 3rd. For Children under 12 years of age, the camps will be from 4:30pm-7:15pm. For teenagers between 13 and 18 years of age, camps will be 4:30pm-8:-00pm.

What about food? 

All participants will receive a meal from 6:00-6:30. This meal will be at no cost, meaning that IT IS FREE!

What is the cost?

The Westerville Naz Summer Slam is completely free! However, there are expenses that come along with putting all this programming together every week. If you would like to donate to the cost of these expenses, we recommend for you to give a $5.00 suggested donation for every participant every week.

Dates and Signups (Each camp is not exactly the same. Your child will learn new skills even in the same activity, and can attend any or all the camps! Signups for each week will close by 11pm of the Monday prior to that week’s camp.)
